March Newsletter 2025
This month has been filled with activity, blessings, and growth at ROHI—and we’re excited to share some of the highlights with you!
Spiritual Retreat: Jesus, Our Judge and Rescuer
Thanks to local Honduran church Iglesia Presbiteriana Gracia Soberana, our children and youth participated in a life-giving spiritual camp. They connected through games, worship, Bible teaching, and more. The impact was powerful. We’re so grateful to Alex, Rudy, Ariel, and their team for pouring into our students and visiting both ROHI and the municipal dump.

Family Life
We celebrated Honduran Father’s Day with handmade cards and appreciation for the few—but very special—fathers in our community, including our three amazing teacher-dads who model strength and care.

Field Trips & Generous Donations
With the help of COACEHL Cooperative, our older students visited the biology museums at UNAH—a hands-on learning experience they won’t forget. COACEHL also donated milk and backpacks with school supplies for our students, helping meet critical needs. We’re thankful for local partners who care!
Thanks to Pastor Florencio and Amor en Acción, 30 of our youngest students received backpacks, making a big difference for their families.
This year, our younger students were selected to participate in Samaritan’s Purse, receiving special gifts and, most importantly, the message of salvation. We thank God for this joyful moment in their lives.

Welcome & Goodbyes
We were blessed by a visit from Elizabeth Miller, who generously helped distribute lice treatment and spent time with our students.
We were overjoyed to welcome back our beloved friends from RidgePoint Church. Their presence is always a source of encouragement and joy. This incredible team painted the metal walls at ROHI, installed doors and windows for a local family, took food to those working at the trash dump, and showered our students with love. Pastor JJ even taught a baseball clinic, and some went to visit Yordi’s barbershop—a business launched by one of our graduates with support from RidgePoint. What a gift to witness dreams come to life!
And we bid a fond farewell to Teacher Mercy, a compassionate and talented educator who has been part of ROHI from the beginning. While she is stepping away from her teaching role, Mercy promises to stay involved in our mission. Her legacy continues, and we are so thankful for her love and investment in our students.

Life Skills & First Quarter Complete
Our older students participated in a workshop called “Attitude and Aptitude” led by Pastor Arturo, encouraging them to grow personally and dream bigger for their futures.
Despite the extreme heat, our students showed up ready to learn and just completed their first quarter exams. We’re proud of their effort and thankful for your continued prayers and support.

Sponsorship Drive Update
In February, we launched our Child Sponsorship Drive with the goal of finding sponsors for at least 42 of our unsponsored students. So far, 19 students have been sponsored, and several more are in the process! We’re so grateful for each new sponsor who has stepped forward with love and generosity. With April 15 as our goal date, we’re trusting God to provide the rest.
Each sponsorship is a powerful investment—offering a child the gift of education, encouragement, and the knowledge that someone knows their name and believes in their future.

| Thank You From food to education, discipleship to encouragement, your support is transforming lives. Many of our students face daily economic hardship and emotional struggles—but through your generosity, they experience the love of Christ and the hope of a better future. |
| ROHI Project aims to provide comprehensive care to the children, youth, and their families who live and work in the Tegucigalpa, Honduras, municipal dump. The project name ROHI is inspired from one of the Hebrew names for God, Jehovah Rohi meaning “the Lord is my shepherd” as seen in Psalm 23. |
